Under the Hood - The K.I.S Blog by Anni Hood
"Created and written with quirky good humour, realism and a life long desire to inspire others in the awesomeness of being as well as can be."
One of the most rewarding things I’ve borne witness to of late, is the growing spotlight on wellness and wellness tourism. About time eh? The subject of illness prevention, longevity, pro active health and protective medicine has long since been tabled and more often, passed over… in favour of a more conventional, reactive approach. Of a ‘safer’ bet. Of a scientific, ‘cannot argue with it’ answer, for symptoms both physical and mental.
When a book is this popular its difficult to resist the lure of knowing what all the fuss is about. The reviews present a melee of compulsion, disgust, blushing smiles, scathing criticism and not least of all, addictive pleasure. The more polarity I saw the more intrigued I became.
I haven’t read about Mr Grey yet. I will, for now though I’m enjoying hearing everyone elses view before I dive in. One thing is for sure , love it or hate it, everyone’s reading it. Boys included. …OF GREY

Get a load of all this fantastic sunshine…everyone feels better and the bikini has already made it’s first appearance of 2012, still March, what bliss…my cynical mind fears peaking too early but my natural instinct says no fear...
Oliver Burkeman writes a great column in The Guardian called ‘This column will change your life” last weeks’ was called ‘the two things’; http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2012/feb/24/two-things-to-know-oliver-burkeman?INTCMP=SRCH
I don’t like to bang on about the weather (so predictably British…that and tea) but yesterday really was a stunner. I could feel the warmth of the sun on my skin and what a difference it makes to how you feel.
An unusual week for me. I haven’t been feeling terribly well. Struck down with a vicious ‘bug’ or food poisoning (I’m not sure) late Sunday afternoon and still feeling a little tender. It was dramatic. Very sudden.
Forgive my tardiness. What a busy little time and what an awesome start to the year. Lets get a little updating going on here;
Hmmm, this is turning into Sex in the City, or to be more accurate, Sex in the Country (actually make that ‘lack of’ ) …perhaps we should explore in another more dedicated post, for now I need to finish what I started…
…was one of the best/worst chat up lines I was subjected to during 2011. The requested stroking was of a suited forearm. I looked curiously at the chap as he thrust the aforementioned body part towards me...
I’ve been in ‘move mode’ for a while but now ensconced in the Somerset countryside and slightly less frantic – did someone say it’s Christmas next week? Oh.
They know how to get us worked up. Pulling at heart strings and throwing magical cloaks of aspirational perfection around like it’s a best friends’ wedding. And yes, we can’t get enough of it. The pre Christmas run up is a media frenzy.
I was thinking of food and nakedness (and why not?) when I came up with the title but then realised that the word ‘raw’ conjures up so many things that have nothing to do with what we’re eating. Written backwards raw becomes ‘war’.
…for dancing? Hell yeah! Oh to be able to dance properly. It’s creeping up my list of New Year resolutions. I’d love it, and come on, our attractive but non rythmic Italian friend has set the bar quite low.
Sharing the joy, the terror and the fulfilment of going it alone feels like the right thing to do. It’s a hoot, in hindsight at least, most things change and I’ve a sneaky feeling...
A sassie Brit from the north east of England, Anni left to explore the world many years ago and has spent recent years globetrotting for both work and pleasure. Somewhere in the melee of culture, inspiration and joie de vivre, she discovered a great passion not only for sport, fitness and activity, but also a zeal for all things healthy.
